But you can use what ever you want... this is just to add some texture! First set the layer to multiply and the opacity to 40% and now lets paint and splatter untill you get an image like the one below.
Hit the T Key (Text Tool) and type a name, ive used UBL with the Avant Garde font. Change the colour to the colours of your choice ive chose #87241b, #b13528 and #c47229. Now whilst holding the Ctrl key hit the T key and angle it to -34 degrees! You should have something like this.
Start a new layer and Hit the M key (Marquee) and draw a rectangle the width of each text and do it untill you get the same as the image below. To get it so you can colour within the marquee just make sure the background colour is the one you want and whilst holding the Ctrl key, hit the backspace key!
Now lets drag all the line layers under the text and lets add some shadow effect. Double click on the layer and click on the drop shadow and set at 90 degree angle and the opacity to 70%... Distance should be 0, spread 0 and size 18. You should have something like the image below.
If you havent already merge all rectangles together and then create a new layer just above it. Make sure the new layer is highlighted and then keeping your fingure on the Ctrl key hover your mouse over the layer in the layer tab and click on the layer of the rectangles... You should have something like the image below.
Now press the B key (Brush) and choose the soft brush like the image below.
Now set the forground colour to #000000 make the shadow effect where the rectangles meet the writing, like the image below!
Now create a new layer and lets do some more rectangles like in step but angle them the other way like the image below.
Now create a new layer under the the rectangles you have just creaed and do the same as you did in step 7. You should have something like the image below!
Now lets create some text like i have in the image below!
Download Background image from here and strech across the whole canvas and set the layer to soft light.
Duplicate the layer and set the opacity to 30%.
